Abstract

Hajj is an Islamic ritual obligation that must be done at least once in a lifetime, it has been performed since the year 632, Saudi Red Crescent Society (SRCS) has been playing the leading role of EMS during Hajj for the past sixty five years. Nowadays, nearly three million persons perform Hajj annually, and due to a lot of factors incidents of mass casualties may occur during Hajj where an accurate fast response should be obtained. This presentation will focus in the annual preparedness of SRCS for Hajj season regarding Mena Area in particular, each year SRCS starts it's preparedness for the next season right after the preceding one throughout a process that gets improved annually according to the changes in SRCS capabilities, climate, geography and to the lessons learnt from any previous Hajj accident. SRCS along with the other field partners aim for a safe and healthy Hajj every year. Objectives:- 1- To study and analyze the causes of the past accidents of Mena & Jamarat areas, and to evaluate the SRCS responses to each one. 2- To look over the past SRCS Hajj plans. 3- To review the factors that effect Hajj safety and response impact. 4- To Analyze the risks and dangers in the Hajj season. 5- To run over the man and technical power that SRCS has and to set their capabilities. 6- To design the future Hajj plans and search for methods to implement them. Methods:- 1- Literature review and historical study. 2- Risk analysis and influential factors revision. 3- SRCS power and capabilities overlook. 4- Plan designing and implementation. 5- Expected results. Expected Results:- 1- To set an appropriate plan for Mena Area. 2- To set checklists and timetables for each part of this plan. 3- To determine the methods where this plan's implementation and accuracy are guaranteed. 4- To create an evaluation system before, during and after the plan application.
