dc.description.abstract | In this thesis, we aim to development and production high-efficiency, stable and non-conventional air-based catalysts and their application in Suzuki-Miyaura reaction to synthesis of biaryls derivatives. The synthesis of novel series of pyrimidine-based Pd(II)-complexes from easily accessible starting materials in excellent isolated yields are described. The synthesized Pd-precatalysts were characterized by spectroscopic techniques as well as the physical characterizations (XRD, SEM, and TGA). The Pd-precatalysts are found to exhibit high catalytic activity for C-C bond formation in Suzuki-Miyaura reactions of different aryl and heteroaryl halides with either aryl or heteroaryl boronic acids. Most of the C-C cross-coupling in this study were conducted in water under thermal heating as well as microwave irradiation conditions. All the factors effecting the reaction optimization were thoroughly studied. The Pd catalysts were found to be thermally, air and water stable catalysts. Finally, one-pot double coupling of 2,5-dibromothiophene with aryl boronic acid have been investigated. Generally, good to excellent yields were achieved for many of these couplings under thermal heating as well as under microwave irradiation conditions. | en_US |
