On Some Basic Tensors And Their Applications

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to precisely explain the fundamentals of tensors and their applications in theory of relativity. We have discussed the physical and geometrical significance of tensors in general relativity. Christoffel symbols which lead to the definition of geodesic have been studied in detail. The Riemann curvature tensor which is responsible for the curvature of space time is discussed and the results obtained from it has been pondered and finally some solutions of the spherically symmetric space time have been obtained.
